The Chakras are energy centers along the spine located at major branching of the human nervous system, beginning at the base of the spinal column and moving upward to the top of the skull. The study of one's Chakra system provides a source of information to practitioners and allows each individual's physical, emotional, and spiritual energy level to be assessed. The ease or difficulty with which a person performs specific yoga movements indicates to the Yogi if a chakra is "blocked" or "open." Once the condition has been determined the Yogi can choose a specific Kriya (yoga set) that will focus on one particular chakra which in turn benefits the entire body.

Several years ago I was working as an actress/comedienne in New York City. I met Heather while she was teaching at a gym I frequented. I felt a connection with Heather and one day I asked her if she would teach me, "how to be silent." At first, I think Heather thought I was making a joke but I was in need of some guidance. Heather began training me privately and during that time we discovered that my Chakra 2 was blocked. Heather patiently worked with me, even giving me homework, eventually I was able to tap into my creative Chakra 2 energy. I boldly decided to move to Los Angeles to further pursue my career goals. Heather and I stayed in contact and I continued practicing Kundalini Yoga. Shortly after moving I faced my biggest physical and emotional challenge. Doctors discovered a large tumor in my uterus. I was extremely distraught but Heather assured me that Kundalini Yoga could ease my distress. She sent me a Kriya for Chakra 2 with a healing meditation to chant everyday. I religiously followed her suggestions. Amazingly when I went back to the doctor he told me that my tumor shrank and minor surgery would remove what remained. It has been a year since my surgery and I am still chanting.

Basic Information on Chakra Two:
- When practicing a specific set for chakra two; you will address the ovaries, testicles, bladder, and genitals.
- If a person's energy is unbalanced in chakra two they may experience feelings of sadness, grief, and self-worth issues.
- Withdrawl, compulsive sexuality, inability to share, and impotence are symptoms of a blocked chakra two.
